Letting Go Slowly – Sunday November 10th 1996

Letting Go Slowly

letting go slowly
is like being cut with a blunt knife
you fall out of grip
and out of someone’s life

letting go slowly
is hurting inside
i cannot see quite so clearly
so i had better wipe my eyes

letting go slowly
does not ease a thing
after all we are only human beings
with hang ups and feelings
it should not have to be like this
letting go and getting on
making out that it does not matter
it seems that is the only way
and that is how we cope
but it is still like being cut
with the bluntest of knives
