The Shape of Things to Come
are you
the shape of things to come
have you really
got it all done
i saw you lunge
at something more square
i found your talisman
and a cupboard more bare
are you
the voice in the dark
have you found
the train in the park
with decadent hope
and rhythm to chill
i saw you raise the flag
and claim the hill
are you
the shape of things to come
i saw you soften
with an x
marking the spot
i saw the spoils of war
and took my best shot
