Deaths and Rebirths

talking to people
to ease their concern 
is one more skill
that i now learn 
just like letting go
and letting some things burn
i face the miller
and let the sails turn
they are no fortune teller
but I know how to learn
talking to the stars
even those that shoot
just past Mars
i pull at my roots
it is one more new skill
for my tired boots
as they walk on new turf
life is a succession of deaths
and then rebirths
