lost myself clutching a view
that hung from different walls

shape of dreams
so readily spun
darkness captures my evening

we have forgotten those that fell
hewn down,
in battlefields and streets of hell

being bold and exciting
it is overrated,
ordinary, calm, companionship
that is me elated

next week it will be the next thing
remembrance for a week
then a new anthem to sing

there are cornerstones
and foundations
traditions,
that must not stop

you must toe that line
and grab the rope –
with both hands
