is it time to go
i am only asking
because i expect you to know

i have been reading my picture books
reading what the pictures never told
told me about the childhood i slowly forgot

it may not be achieving much
you may say, wishing will always fail
but life can be such a struggle, so very much
i will do anything to make it better,
even believe in fairytales

you made your presence felt
like an unknown soldier long since gone

you wonder how you will survive
perhaps you want another another chew
another bite, but you have to let the cherry go
and time is faster than it is slow

i do not hear it
i have been thinking alot about last night
you just go away
out of mind, out of sight
and now it is just another day

in the morn i was born
out of the dark into a playground park
now i feel i am being watched
i want to get out
but the gates are locked

one day they will come
with a mind bending gun
out of the sun
to a new dawn, we will give birth

i remember clutching at straws
i remember being scared
fed up of the daily chores
only ever made better by what you wore
