These Wonderful Days – Written Sunday 30th October 1994 (Aged 19)

These Wonderful Days

are you coming out to play?
we can go on the slide in the park
we have got to be by five, for tea
before it gets dark
and mum will cook for you and me
do you want –
to go into town tomorrow
we could go together, kids on our own
that would be so brave
do not worry if we get lost
we can use the phone
i have got 10p, just you and me
do you want to come to my party
i am nearly nine,
juliet is going to be there
and i know you think she is fine
when you get older
you will look back on these wonderful days
these wonderful days
when everything felt easy

James Garratt – Sunday 30th November 1994
