shapes in my life

they have angered me
to the point –
where i am calm

you do not deserve my care
you have ransacked my trust
and abused the things that i share

tired and i need to sleep
just as i need a rainbow
in order to find my feet

they put their own needs
and their own ego to one side
that is when you find friendship

that i am not blind
that i gave you so much
that i hungered –
for your touch

you occupy a place
and,
that is true
no one can fill that part –

i think of all we shared
the happy times we had
it is sad to bite into the apple
and then find it has turned bad
