The World We Dare Not Share
in the mind,
is a world which we dare not share
it is a world,
but we never take people there
at least,
the cupboards are bare
but it is not the type of place
that we ever share
it’s where our thoughts become untied
even unshackled
but we can never escape the lies
in the mind,
this is the place which we dare not share
a world,
where we are stripped bare
my mind is full up
and swimming in thoughts
there is a relay of what ifs
as decisions queue up to be bought
and imposter syndrome
plays cards with my self belief
in the mind,
there is a world we dare not share
there are people we love
but we can never take them there
because there would be an impossible cost
if they had to pay the fare
and there would be tragic loss
if we showed them the world we dare not share

That is such a relatable message. As someone who likes to spend time alone, and think by myself, I know how hectic that World I Dare Not Share can get.

Thank you :). That was the one line I wasn’t sure about but I left it in because I just kind of liked it. I never really say what a piece of writing is about but there is a lot on here about managing mental health and well being. Glad you liked it and as ever, really appreciate the comments.

I felt the aspect of mental health in it. You know a lot of us who protect people from our own selves are in a mental health journey that only we know about because…well, we never let anyone in.
