A Heartfelt Fad
next week it will be the next thing
remembrance for a week
then a new anthem to sing
throw the dog a stick
and watch them fetch it –
with such enthusiasm
you could almost believe they meant it
this week,
their hearts have run dry
they have worked that well so hard
it has made them cry
but next week,
it will be another, ‘heartfelt cause’
no reflection, no meaning, no learning
them and education both left yearning
cut out these shared posts
where is their real voice?
it is just ghost,
and next week it will find a brand new cause
a heartfelt fad
