Where to Begin…

this brave new world
i find myself in
not sure
where to begin
who is staying
and who is leaving
people can stake a claim
but this smile
is never too fake
this brave new world
which orbits
a bright new sun
i feel old
yet I know i have just begun
no prisoners this time
no free rides
no nonsense 
and this time, no lies
and those curtains will not be closed
of that I am certain
that much i know
this brave new world
