Contain, Hold, Steady
i try to hold them up
the very best i can
i have always cared
if only because of who i am
i have never been that stone cold
maybe shyness has found me
but my jokes are bold
i try to contain,
when it starts to rain
i try to hold,
when the fabric starts to fold
i soak up,
like i had to soak it up as a child
i breathe in,
and light a fire in my belly
i smile,
and try to turn on a light in my eyes
i try to make sure they have a place to talk
a safe space,with meaningful faces
reflecting, using the joy of human tracing
all those worried lines
i try to hold onto them
