Common Enemy

we all fight each other
whilst,
kings and queens
and lords and ladies look on
they are satisfied
for us to fight and destroy each other
dissatisfaction and fear
is the perfect cover
we attack individuals
but not the systems
that empower them
social media –
is a cold clinical fridge
where your own mortality
makes a daring bid
the one thing,
that unites us all
is the common enemy
screwing us all,
but all we do is fight each other
whilst,
kings and queens
media barons,
and political has-been’s look on
