The Girl in the New Dress
it is time,
for the girl in the new dress
to grow up a little bit
and start treating her boyfriend
with a little more respect
she is not proving anything
no one noticed her new dress
and no one really cares
what she wears
or how she does her make-up
or if she let’s down her hair
it is time to stop being a, ‘kid’
you have perfected,
the are of being a bitch
now perfect the art,
of feeling, a little bit
she must realise now
she is pretty
but she’s a dog, and she’s got him
carrying him around in her teeth
it is time for the girl,
to stop playing about
this is not a real life
this is not what it is about
you can keep turning away from me
but i have a little more
than you know yourself
