Nothing Seem as It is

i would tell you about the way things were
but i would only start to remember and get scared
i would tell how you about how things are
but i would look around and get scared
nothing seems as it is
and in a maze of thistles
i cannot locate a soul with a familiar whistle
it seems you fight other people
only to end up fighting yourself
then you run out of breath
only death is just the beginning
i would tell you about the people
but they seem as far away as ever
you can plead about humanity
but i cannot see us ever being all together
it is hard enough to get paired
i would tell you about things now
but i would only look around and get scared
