How Did You Come to This?

your theories and ideas
are pure, ‘madness’
and locked in deep
it is almost like,
a religious fanaticism
the evidence,
is simply not there
how did you come to this?
does anyone not care?
what you believe
only does you harm,
it does not bring you in
or prevent the cold
where is the warmth
and comforting shoulder?
and what will the children say
when they are older,
what will he say,
when he realises,
he is not the favourite
and instead, unfairly, has been labelled
second best,
will he feel confident
be able to stand with the rest?
