I Am a Work in Progress (We all Are)

occasionally
perhaps more than occasionally
i get it wrong
but i am always amazed
when and how people care for me
i am struck
by their inner love
because in younger days
i never felt loved
i felt rejected
and I felt lost
i know, sometimes
i say the wrong thing
but you know I care so deeply
the last year and a half
has been a garden
in some kind of mess
remember
i am a work in progress
i am am made beautiful
by those who love me
by those who show me affection
when I am lost
i know they will find me direction
