The Perfect Match
it might well be
a form of honesty
and i could roll my dice
and say, that is how it goes
but it still hurts
and that is what shows
i should not be here
just to sell what i do not know
a future,
which none of us yet hold
a show,
for which there can be no booking
but the way she looked at me
she wanted the classic good looking
rich, successful man
perhaps the loneliness she talked of
would be easier for her to understand
if she did not –
just judge at face value
i am sorry that i was not perfect
that i did not come up to scratch
perhaps she needs to reflect
and redefine the perfect match
