Unable to Simply Reach Out

the person felt boring
they felt for the stairs
but they were not there
only an icy stare
they felt for the sweets
they wanted to share
but they were not there
they felt for the alcohol
but even in the heat
it could not keep out the cold
it reached the tips of their toes
only they, will ever really know
why the emptiness seems to be their life
and why in the midday
they only ever see the night
this person felt but did not feel at all
for they felt so much,
that they could not cope at all
everything painful to the touch
everything seems so cruel
they felt for the family they had
but they were not there
for them that was the cruellest of all
the fact that they did not know how to care
