A Sad Lament

some parents
just should not be parents
stupid, selfish, greedy
could not care for the responsibility
treat their children,
like a mat they wipe their feet on
before the child has found their feet
they have already gone

some parents
just should not be parents
immature, premature baby factories
three or four, sometimes more
before they have barely crawled out of their teens
on their hands and knees

some parents
just should not be parents
to the welfare of their children
they remain indifferent
just could not care less
swearing and cursing, only hurting
putting them down with put downs
these people are not heaven sent

some parents should not be parents
and that is a sad lament
