Somone

someone asked
but i did not say
i turned away
to finish the day
someone met somebody
who was –
just a reason for the day
she stole a kiss
and floated away
someone asked
if they could come in
i watched their hope
float calmly beneath my skin
it is hard –
to know what to do
i remembered uneasiness
but hopefully about the new
someone asked
and for a moment –
i just said yes
they said it is compliance
and i said, it is only a guess
