Jump a River

younger me did not seem so free
younger me tried to jump a river
and failed to deliver
younger me learned to cook
but not to feed
younger me seems immature
and with a little spite
no dental appointments noted
to rectify that bite
younger me felt different
and person of creative identity
younger me did not seem so free
and almost drowned creatively
