Years

four seems more like forty
could never believe it has been four years
since i first met you
i cannot believe it was seven years ago
that i was sixteen
that feels like seven hundred
and now, such a surreal scene
i cannot believe it was only eighteen months ago
that i met her,
i cannot believe that we can still find passion
and something to share
i cannot believe all that has changed
now i sit in armchairs,
and blaze through memories with friends
getting close through laughter
these years seem longer than they are
i could have been living somewhere else
perhaps on a distant planet
sometimes it feels like i do
perhaps that is years feel so long
at least in my memory
because in reality they pass so quick
