Belong

i thought i could belong
i was wrong
but i know in the long term –
it will be good
i had barely got home –
and she was uploading her pictures
any sensitivity to my feelings
left somewhere –
on that date that we shared
my mistake is to believe –
strangers actually care
and whilst she must –
look after number one
when you are left with tears
it does not feel like fun
are you able to respect –
that someone might feel
even when you do not feel the same
are peoples feelings –
just a trickle to the drain
i have just realised –
that in fact, i do belong
i was just looking in the wrong place
