Heartless

you never actually cared
did you?
i noticed you never talked –
with me, only at me
so you never –
really offered yourself
and now,
i am somebody else
i suspect –
you will spend –
a long time looking
for that, ‘man’
you are no different
to those you criticise
the soul has hardened
behind your eyes –
you duped me –
and you preyed upon my softness
i may be careless
but you are heartless
