Lost Out
out of the blue
i realised quickly
the only thing to come was something new
i have lost out, but i am not down
i am here like a bad sequel
just about around
in the morn i was born
out of the dark into a playground park
now i feel i am being watched
i want to get out
but the gates are locked
in time we learn
through a hell of a lot of pain
it is a good job our tears run free and never stain
very few people can see or understand
the life etched onto your face
and reflected in your hands
the palmist will know
but they see how our spirit grows
i have lost out but i will be strong
i know how it goes
we all do, i am sure you know too
that there are many shades of colour in our lives
not just many shades of blue
in this case i have lost out but i will come through
