Conflicted Responses

what do i do?
reach out –
do the humane thing
or do i think –
in the past –
you were not there
and,
why should i care?
of course –
i reach out
through a,
guilt ridden conscience
and through human nature
understanding the past
shaping the future
another marriage breakdown
i spent too long –
as a shoulder to cry on
i was too young
what do i do?
well, those mental health issues
have been making steady progress –
for years
they recruited your childhood
looked like they have now,
consumed your fears
what do i do?
