The Day is a Dog – Written September 2000 (Aged 25)

The Day is a Dog

the day is a dog
let it stray
throw it a stick
tell it to wait
tell it to come back another day
the day is a dog
it is a stray
but not caged in a home
i thought i saw you pray
the bubble tells me you are alone
the day is a dog
its noise is ever present
and it barks in the fog
throw it a stick
give ti a toy to play with
tell it to stray
throw the stick again
and watch it run away
the day is a dog
