The Disability of Ignorance
it is a shame
you cannot be more positive
about those you consider, ‘disabled’
i remember –
when i suggested you seek help
how you said,
you would not be in a room –
with people who could not –
‘string a sentence together’
i remember –
thinking is that the fear and ignorance
that hurts inside
it is a shame
you cannot be more positive
about those you consider, ‘disabled’
but by my reckoning
any kind of ignorance
is the only true disability
anyone can ever have
