I Have Always Found That People Care For Me

i have always found –
that people –
care for me
perhaps when i was young
and my age –
ended in the word, ‘teen’
perhaps i felt
i did not deserve me
it is this affection
these tactile gestures
these moments
when others show me
how much i mean
i know it is a long way –
from seventeen
i have always found –
that people –
care for me
without the knot –
of expectation
that leaves my task force sunk
