Stars and Cars – Written Between February and June 1995 (Aged 20)

Stars and Cars

she is crossing the stars
he is crashing cars
it is a loud and trashy place
where they cannot be bothered
not even to fix the garden gate
it has become unhinged
just like them,
another lager and chocolate binge
as they dream
children at twenty five
and when they least expected them
they still think they are eighteen
still thinking,
that they have no responsibilities
still dragging down their lives
she is crossing the stars
he is crashing cars
