Barrel of Sawdust and a Tugboat of Floating Dreams – Written Wednesday 22nd July 2020 (Aged 45)

Barrel of Sawdust and a Tugboat of Floating Dreams

it has been some life
up and down
and then back around
from the quiet of hope
to the talk of the town
what has it been?
a barrel of sawdust –
and a tugboat of floating dreams
i have tried my best
up and down
and then back around
caught with best friends
listening to sounds
it has been some life
but, oh my,
how many disjointed jigsaws –
haunt my eyes
and then there is the butter like rope
of my family ties
there is an awkwardness
and therefore there are no lies
and i must look back
with some degree of lamented shock
up and down
and then back down
in and out of so many scenes
it has been a barrel of sawdust –
and a tugboat of floating dreams
