Where Are You? – Written Tuesday 9th April 2002 (Aged 27)

Where Are You?

if i am here
then, where are you?
with that dead end job
and business like shoes
if i am here
then, where are you?
i saw a newspaper seller
and what he told me was true
if i am here
tying my laces and looking for clues
then, where are you?
playing second fiddle and singing the blues
i should not comment –
on what i no longer know
and i will try not to lament –
for the choices i will never see
