The Way People Can Be
it leaves me cold
it leaves me feeling old
the way people can be
my confidence is ill
it looks painfully thin
and hurt by what it feels
it leaves me in the dark
it leaves me without light
the way people can be
my confidence is ill
it looks so sunken
it looks so gaunt
there is no need
i should just believe
people can be so strange
we can be so cruel
we leave each other lame
and feeling small
it leaves me cold
