Armbands – Written Thursday 18th November 1999 (Aged 24)

Armbands

i do not know who i am
but i am glad to be me
i found myself on a path,
with a sign
and the sign said, ‘to the sea’
well i felt those waves
and i heard their sound
but humans need to have the armbands
that means we do not drown
those armbands,
keep us afloat in the sea of life
i do not know who i am
i know i have got a brain
and two lonely hands
as i find myself here in the sea of life
hoping for a set of armbands
