They Were Only Human
the hardest truth
is that your parents let you down
that,
they were only human
and you needed super beings
but,
you got flesh and blood
and maybe
they were not good enough
and that is okay
you can be angry
and feel that it is all too much
it des not detract from love
and that they could not do enough
i know,
it is the hardest truth
but it is okay to feel
and it is fine to have conflicting emotions
parents were only human
flawed and often without solutions
you can place them
back on the mantlepiece
and love them still
and though they are flowed
and they let you down
forgiveness and love can still be found
