Sixteen to Twenty Six
sixteen to eighteen
we wonder how we got there
eighteen to twenty
slight traces of maturity
and we wonder what happened,
to those previous four years
twenty to twenty five
so much drinking, so many tears
i wonder how we are alive
and what has happened from sixteen
those nine in-between years
and as we get older
the body of what we feel we have achieved
only feels like a shoulder
a hard felt lesson
but only sometimes a burden
sixteen to twenty six
i can county the years
but then, so much is missed
where did it all go
in the last ten years,
i shall probably never know
