Never Taking Second Best

you were not made,
for those who do not understand you
you have a very pretty face
and your eyes, they do survey –
the debris of this place

you were not made,
for those who do not tell you
with every syllable how they feel
you are no different to anybody else
you just need it in an individual way
i almost feel sorry for him
because he thinks it is something to say
but he has got to show you

you were not made,
for the complications of others
and they were not made for you
you need more than dreams
you need them to come true
you have never being the easiest to love
but that is what makes you special
and that is why you should never give up
