My Children
the laughter is hollow
please, neve be one of my children
if my children are like so many
so many i see
i will feel they are derailed
it will become hard to believe
that in some way i have not failed
how were you convinced
please never let my children grow
grow so angry and so narrow minded
please let my children have depth
do not let them be shallow
let them be bright
let them treat others right
if my children grow up
like so many i see
i know i will have failed
the evidence will be presented quite clearly
the laughter is hollow
yet that hollowness has gone deep
please never be one of my children
that would be a nightmare in which i never sleep
