People Fall Away
people fall away
like the memories of today
the memories –
that you will cry about
when you recall them –
many years from now
people fall away
your mutual grip is not tight enough
and the never ending adventure
no longer means so much
sooner or later you want to plan the future
and the game ends
and new one begins
sometimes we seem to lose friends
sometimes it just can’t seem to be helped
people fall away
as they settle for a new life –
of affection and security
because being secure
means you can save your sanity
and plan for the future
