The Future Has Just Begun

i could have told you
i could have held you
till all that pain –
disappeared into the night
stay close,
soon the sun will shine bright
then you can paint the sky
the most beautiful colour of you
no more, i want to cry
no more, i want to die
now is the time to live
just wait, and you will see
i could have been anything
and it is easy to believe
i somehow ended up being me
that was all –
i was ever destined to be
stay close,
and think about the future
think about all the possibilities
the way we can strive for something better
believe in yourself,
as i try to believe in me
i know that i will soon see the sun
and that i will be blissfully free
just so i can get things done
i could have held you –
but you are only young
i hope you know what to do
the future has just begun
