Hope You Will
Listening to sounds at night —
hide away;
they will give you a fright.
When we came out of the caves,
stealing from our own past,
we were the cowboys and Indian braves.
I have moulded you
just like clay — but you were okay.
Some things are helping us live day to day.
Really, I hope you are winning,
because you can’t look back;
the end is just the beginning.
Boys and girls run and hide,
just like so many years ago
when I first felt the rain
and I played in the snow.
Give me a comic book hero —
one who is so brave,
so my sanity will be saved.
Dreams can be real,
a way that you can feel,
but they are always so high,
and it can be so hard to climb the hill.
Sometimes you need some hope —
I hope you will.
