Let’s Eat Sherbet Love Hearts

let’s eat sherbet love hearts
munch on the past
let’s drink sailor jerry’s
from the favourite cask
it is true,
depression and mental imbalance
has written,
the best words i have ever read
and the greatest failing in my navigation
is not listening to friends and the words they said
let’s pull together
and row in one direction
i fear i am prone to being a museum
and that people fear being part of a collection
let’s eat biscuits that you have made
let’s retreat from various frontlines
and life’s explosive grenades
let’s find duvets,
pull them out of the wardrobe
let’s get under them and just keep talking
till our eyes finally close
