Waiting For You

i am waiting for you
filling out my days
with things that pass the time
i am lost in idleness
and i am waiting for you
doing things –
that do not seem important
knowing, i am just waiting –
for you to arrive
i feel like i could do more
and time is passing slowly
i hurry in the streets
and pass the shops around me
i am waiting for you –
to be here
and here with me
picking out our dreams
from the tidal estuary
