i think back –
to us in your bedroom
listening to music
your DM boots
and long flowing skirts
lots of college and going out
and much less work
i think about –
how i thought –
you were just so damn cool
so beautiful, so wonderful
so far from small towns
so far from cruel schools
i guess i did love you –
as a friend
and in a childlike way
you opened so many doors
and i could never really say
and now, here we are
after all these years
supposedly grown up now
or something like that
and i find you once again
i want you and your friendship back
