Master Builder – Written Wednesday 4th October 2006 (Aged 31)

Master Builder

when asked to build a house
they assured me –
that they were a master builder
that their building skills came naturally
but as i watch and as i hope
i noticed that they struggled –
with the basic foundations
and instead of honesty –
they blamed other situations
i watched,
as they clumsily laid each brick
i realised,
they did not know how to make them fit
i realised that to build a house
one where we could be safe
was something beyond their grasp
a master builder they were not
