You Never Wanted Me
i realised with so much sadness
that you had never wanted me
and yet,
how eagerly i told you about my life
how readily i had spoken
and how much i had typed
i felt foolish as that truth drew near
i realised you do not read or listen
to things you don’t want to hear
it’s why you never coped,
when they became sick and ill
and why it doesn’t matter how i feel
