Could I Be?
if i have a grudge
well you say,
that is because of autism
if i get angry
well you say,
that’s because you have autism
if i cannot deal with you
it’s because in your mind,
i must have autism
if i am overwhelmed
you say that i have autism
if i develop any interests
you say i have autism
if i fail in anyway
well you say,
that’s because you have autism
if i choose to stay in
well you say,
it’s because i have autism
to you,
my family dynamics seem strange
so it must down to autism
i don’t socialise seven days a week
well you say,
it must be because of autism
if i sweat too much
you say i have autism
perhaps one day, if i may ask –
could i just be me?
instead of being rolled around
and the victim of you factious disorder
could i just be me?
could i breathe for a second and be free
please, could i be me?
