Journey
somehow you have beat yourself up inside
just to find out who you are
you spend years huddled in cold places
just to find out what it means
you let people use and abuse you
you let people steal all your dreams
you one million different excuses
just to find out what it all means
you love a succession of people
all of whom have taken a piece of your soul
you slave over insecurities
only to become part of a fad
somehow you have beat yourself up inside
you let people use and abuse you
and those who were bullied suddenly bully
you shiver in rain sodden towns
you crawl across forgotten wastelands
you find faith in glass bottles
you find truths in your hands
somehow you have beat yourself up inside
all in an effort so that you can understand
and find out what and who you are
