Cruelty
in my life i have been cruel,
so i know all too well about cruelty
i know of its shape
and the colour of its eyes
i know of its face
and i know what if feels like inside
so i know cruelty
and i see it in you
holding together loneliness
wearing self esteem’s second hand shoes
painting your portrait in shades of blue
in my life i have been cruel
so i know all too well about cruelty
i have kissed it,
and i have taken it to a rusty bed
i have romanced its dark heart
and i’ve got drunk on words it said
it has torn me apart
and finally revealed that bitterness is never true
in my life i have been cruel
so i know all too well about cruelty
and i see it in you
