Baby Blindness – Written Monday 13th March 2023 (Aged 48)

Baby Blindness

oblivion,
and being oblivious
happened,
or at least happened –
in a decade –
that has long since hung up its boots
experience informs you
reminds you
stays with you
and baby blindness is replaced
by wide eyed knowledge
now,
i cannot be oblivious to consequence
sat here,
wrestling in the life trench
naivety,
always well meant
but now,
written letters are no long sent
and i cannot be oblivious –
as i once was
back in that unspecified day
in a decade,
that has long since gone away
